THE LOCATION

In 's-Hertogenbosch, this dynamic workplace is created where performing artists and makers from Brabant, the Netherlands and Europe can use the facilities offered for specific circus disciplines and crossovers to develop new creations.
The Circus Kapel exists of a workspace with several other spaces, including a kitchen.

Residents can use the residency space for a minimum of 1 week (5-7 days).
Since Mai 2023 the new fixed, custom made construction is build in the Circus Kapel.
The construction is 8,5 meter high and has several rigging options.

There is no daylight in the workspace, but in all the other spaces there are ceiling windows which provide a lot of daylight for the many plants in the building. We have a kitchen area, a shower and toilet, a meeting space and 2 other small spaces.

LAYOUT RESIDENCE

We strive to offer a workspace that offers the facilities that a circusmaker needs. The facilities we have provide opportunities for most circus disciplines to rehearse, create and perform their work. The Circus Kapel provides equipment and materials that meet the safety requirements.
The construction of 8,5 meters height has several rigging points. Also we will provide anchor points to set up a Chinese Pole.

THE PAPENHULST

The Circus Kapel can be found in the center of 's-Hertogenbosch in the former hospital De Papenhulst. The Chapel of this hospital is walled by the homes of the residents of the Papenhulst Association, which was created after the squatting of the complex in 1978. The apartments around the Circus Kapel are inhabited by 44 people and in “the bunker” under the chapel are a number of music studios and a radio station. Close to the Bossche Broek nature reserve, and at the back of the Sint Jan Cathedral, we welcome artist to develop their work. 's-Hertogenbosch is the capital of the province of North Brabant.
